one of the two wires to the connector was not connected to the connector. It was just dangling, a loose bare wire. I stuffed the wire into the connector to make the switch work. A temporary fix at best but I was trading the car in the next day, so no time to return it for replacement. Someone else's problem now, I guess.

Quick response with quick delivery. The competitors were giving a 6-8 week lead time for delivery on the Bilstein B8 performance strut.
