one of the two wires to the connector was not connected to the connector. It was just dangling, a loose bare wire. I stuffed the wire into the connector to make the switch work. A temporary fix at best but I was trading the car in the next day, so no time to return it for replacement. Someone else's problem now, I guess.

Only complaint was that I paid for 2 day shipping for Fed Ex. I didn't see any other options. I got the product 5 days after it shipped.
